The National College for School Leadership was created to develop world-class school leaders.The new Learning and Conference Centre is its flagship building, designed to encourage learning and inspire leadership.

Set in its own tranquil lakeside grounds in the centre of Nottingham the new facility offers fully-equipped conference and meeting facilities for up to 200. Five-star hospitality and catering services are also offered to visitors.

The new restaurant has a servery area which is on show to diners so the aesthetics of the canopy were an important design issue. A rectangular canopy would be unsightly in this location so Britannia designed a canopy that incorporates a curved front valance to match the radius of the servery counter.

Grease is filtered out of the airstream using Superstream baffle type grease filters and lighting is provided by recessed halogen downlighters around the perimeter of the canopy.

As the grease is filtered out of the airstream it is controlled through an integral collection and drainage system, to easily emptied grease drawers which keep end user maintenance to a minimum.

Superstream baffle grease filters also provide a physical barrier to the spread of flames getting out from a kitchen and into the ductwork system.
