PKL Group was awarded the contract to provide robust and secure catering facilities for the many soldiers of the peacekeeping forces in Kosovo. PKL designed and manufactured high quality containerised kitchens for 17 camps under very tight deadlines, working closely with Britannia when designing the ventilation canopies.
The kitchens are housed in 20 foot ISO steel contaners, which are designed to form a variety of kitchen layouts depending on the quantity of troops being served. Each kitchen complex benefits from a Britannia stainless steel supply air canopy, complete with service distribution units and Fire Suppression system.
Each section of the kitchen is delivered by road transport to the individual camps in Kosovo, therefore the structural requirements of each kitchen had to be carefully determined and designed accordingly. The canopy and all the cooking equipment are pre-installed in each container and can be fully operational within hours of arriving at its location.
